What's required to open a claim when contacting the Warranty Claims Department?
To open a claim, you'll need your:
- Ryder Stock/Unit Number
- VIN Number
- Current Mileage
- Contact Number
- Location of the covered Vehicle you are calling about
- Brief description of the issue
Keep in mind: All warranty claims include a deductible. While the deductible amount varies, based on the product you purchased, it usually ranges between $150 - $300. Who do I contact if I Purchased a Premium 2000+® warranty?

How do the warranty contracts vary under each of Ryder's three classes of pre-owned vehicles?
Ryder offers three classes of pre-owned vehicles for sale - Ryder Certified, Ryder DOT Verified, and Ryder As-is. The warranty provided for each offering differs as follows:
- Ryder Certified - The highest-quality vehicles we sell have each passed our rigorous 140-point inspection. Sales of these vehicles include a complimentary 30-day limited powertrain warranty. For each vehicle, Ryder provides the buyer with a full maintenace history and offers extended warranty contract options. (See your salesperson for more information.)
- Ryder DOT Verified - All these vehicles we sell have been inspected and are DOT compliant. While they are sold without any warranty (where allowed by law), extended warranty contract opitions may be availble for purchase. (See your salesperson for more information.)
- Ryder As-is - All vehicles are sold "As-is". Ryder As-Is vehicles require repairs in order to be road ready and meet DOT standards. Warranty contracts are not offered for vehicles sold in "As-is" condition.
Will repairs be made at a Ryder shop for a claim covered under a Warranty contract?
Ryder reserves the right to repair any covered claim at one of our locations, and we pride ourselves on delivering timely, quality service to customers. To make repairs more convenient for you, Ryder may leverage our relationships with local facilities for extended warranty contracts. Most of these repairs will be performed by 3rd parties engaged by the contract issuer. (Note: All extended warranty repairs will be addressed at a certified repair facility, not a Ryder shop.)
What if my claim is not covered under my Ryder Certified 30-Day Certificate?
Ryder extends a limited powertrain warranty for the first 30 days after purchase of Ryder Certified vehicles. The quality of these vehicles is backed by a rigorous 140-point Ryder inspection prior to your purchase. Mechanical failures may happen after the covered warranty certificate period. If your claim is not eligible for coverage, the Warranty Claims Department will inform you in a timely fashion so you may proceed accordingly. The Warranty Claims Department communication will explain why the claim is not eligible for coverage.
What if my claim is not covered under the Ryder Certified Plus Extended Warranty?
Ryder offers industry-standard extended warranty contracts. While broad coverages are available, not every component on the vehicle is covered. In some instances, these extended warranty contracts are designed to offset some costs for repairs where the failure isn't entirely covered. The quality of each Ryder Certified vehicle is backed by a rigorous 140-point inspection prior to your purchase. Mechanical failures may happen after the covered warranty certificate period. If your claim is not eligible for coverage, the Warranty Claims Department will inform you in a timely fashion so you may proceed accordingly. If I purchased Ryder SelectCare Preventive Maintenance (PM), how do I schedule service?
Ryder has more than 800 service facilities nationwide, so it's easy for you to schedule your PM at a convenient location. Simply call 855-961-0855. Please have your maintenance contract available for reference.
As an owner-operator, I may need to rent a vehicle during peak season or when regular maintenance is being performed. Will Ryder give me a discount since I've purchased a vehicle from you?
Yes! Rent a truck from Ryder at any time and we'll discount 10% off the daily rate and mileage. Prior to renting, you will need to establish a Ryder rental account, with a certificate of insurance required. Some rental vehicle types may also require you to be billing approved.
